One thing that’s fact during the festive season, is that you can never be over dressed. Christmas time allows all sequin lovers to show off those embellished outfits to the world – which I for one strongly encourage. Be it Christmas Day or New Years Eve, you’ve got to be dressed your best and show off such cutting edge style to family and friends.
With Christmas being a traditionally sophisticated and classy event, it’s important to keep outfits a bit more PG, especially if your Grandma is sat round at the dinner table… So with this in mind, ditch the glitter halter necks that you’ve worn to every event at Digi, and opt for something similar to Topshop’s cropped cable knit jumper, teamed with a faux black leather skirt. With this outfit you can dress it up confidently with a pair of over-the-knee boots, or down with a pair of fluffy slippers for prancing around the house comfortably. Christmas day sorted, let’s tackle New Years Eve.
“Shine your way into 2017: embellishment and glitter is the way forward. If you aren’t the type to wear something so boldly decorated, I suggest sticking with the classic LBD and accessorising subtly with glitter and sequins”
Being the final party of 2016, celebrating the end of the year requires an outfit of equal importance. Shine your way into 2017: embellishment and glitter is the way forward. If you aren’t the type to wear something so boldly decorated, I suggest sticking with the classic LBD and accessorizing subtly with glitter and sequins. Topshop offer a range of shoes which are bound to make you stand out from the crowd. A personal fave of mine have to be the Royal Glitter sandals, and they’re only £25. The shimmery hues and wrap-tie details add a touch of luxe to the classic heeled sandal and the 4-inch heel enabling you to dance the night away with not too much discomfort (whilst also adding that extra element of class for the countdown). If you’re keeping it more casual with NYE, I’d recommend a pair of waxed skinny jeans, which can be bought from Zara. The wax effect adds that extra dressy feel compared to normal black skinnies and pairing this with a chic blouse you really can’t go wrong.
Again, accessories are a key part of outfits these days, and a no brainer for New Years Eve is the on-trend choker. Don’t just stick with the classic black coloured choker for the holiday season, venture out and see what else is on the market. Personal recommendation is the Luella Multicolored Diamond Choker, only £5 from Miss Pap. This choker is the perfect accessory for the festive season, it’s discrete enough for someone who doesn’t like to overdo the glitz and glam but it’s also the icing on the cake for shimmer lovers like me. Whatever your style there really is something out there for everyone and I for one can’t wait to take full advantage of that when spending and splurging this holiday season.
